Ayakulik River Adventures is located on southwest coastline of Kodiak Island on over 500 acers of private property beginning at the mouth of the Ayakulik River and surrounded by the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. Complete isolation and seclusion to fully enjoy an Alaskan adventure.
There are no roads to the Ayakulik River. All guests arrive in the city of Kodiak, Alaska via their own travel arrangements. Ayakulik River Adventures makes all round-trip arrangements for guest to board either a helicopter or small plane to arrive and depart to the lodge or city of Kodiak. Kodiak Island weather can be very unpredictable, so we do are very best to deal with delays in flights to and from the lodge.
The Ayakulik River is roughly 100 feet wide, crystal clear fast flowing river that averages 3 to 4 feet in depth with fishing holes around every bend. This and the lack of brush on the banks makes the Ayakulik River perfect for the fly fishing.
Fishing holes are reached by hiking, jet boat or raft up and down the river. Many are next to the lodge accessible to all hiking levels.

With the unique location of the lodge being directly on the river wildlife viewing is literally "right out the front door!" There are opportunities to see Brown Bears, Fox, Otters, Ermine, Seals, Eagles, Songbirds, Waterfowl and Shore birds.
Hiking, beach combing are excellent ways to capture the vast landscape with a black sand beach, mountain top views, waterfalls, wildlife and many varieties of plants.
