Surrounded by the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, the Ayakulik River area is home to brown bears, fox, Sitka blacktail deer, seals, river otters, ermine, eagles, and a variety of song and shore birds.
Along with many of our seasonal guest, we believe we have the best opportunities for wildlife viewing on Kodiak Island.
The landscape is perfect for hiking with rolling hills and mountains with maximum heights reaching only 1,000 feet. Miles of open beach for beach walking/combing. With a wide variety of wildflowers covering the landscape, the Ayakulik River area offers excellent photography and eco tours for the nature enthusiast.
